About The Listening Differently Project

“One of our biggest opportunities to grow as an early childhood educator is to lean into our vulnerability of not always understanding what we’re hearing and to look to others to help us interpret children’s languages and ways of meaning-making. Consider this a heartfelt invitation to embrace and jump into vulnerability with us.”

Who are we?

Meet the creators of The Listening Differently Project

This project is inspired by our work as early childhood educators and graduate students in the Innovative Early Childhood Education Master's Program at UC Denver in collaboration with Boulder Journey School. We found a common passion in listening differently by giving value to the many forms of communication children use, especially those which are not as widely-recognized. We hope by sharing our resources you are able to hone your own practice of listening differently to young children. We hope you will get in touch and share your stories of listening differently through our comments page or email at thehundredhundredmore@gmail.com
