What does it mean to listen differently?

The Listening Differently Project is an advocacy resource and invitation into the 'hundred, hundred more' languages of young children. Influenced by Reggio Emilia philosophy, and our direct experience as teachers, we propose three active ways to increase inclusivity in Early Childhood Education: by growing our fluency in listening to children's communications beyond spoken words; by sharing ways of hearing and communicating in more than conventional languages; and by positioning these as powerful and equal in a value system often dominated by spoken or written communication.

“The child has
a hundred languages
(and a hundred hundred hundred more)...”

No Way.

The Hundred is There.
